Privacy policy

In short: we process as little data as possible. Here is what we use and why.

1. Who is responsible

2. Hosting and server logs

This website is served by Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you open a page, Cloudflare processes the technical data needed to deliver it, such as your IP address, the date and time, the page you opened and details about your browser. This is necessary to run the website safely and reliably (legitimate interests, Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR and GDPR). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK extension. 3. No cookies, an anonymous visit count

This website itself sets no cookies and uses no third-party analytics or advertising services. To know how many people visit our pages, we count visits on our own server at Cloudflare: the page you open, the website or link you came from, your country (derived from your IP address) and whether you use a phone or a computer. So that each visitor is counted only once a day, we turn your IP address and browser details into an encrypted value using a random key that is created anew every day and then deleted. We do not store your IP address, and nobody can recognise you from this value or follow you across days. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding and improving what we offer (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR and GDPR). Our fonts are stored on our own server, so no connection is made to Google Fonts.

4. Buying and paying through Whop

When you tap ‘Read it tonight’, the checkout of our payment and delivery partner Whop (Whop, Inc., USA) opens on this page. Only then does your browser load content from Whop (cdn.whop.com). Whop processes technical data such as your IP address and may set cookies needed for the payment, including for fraud prevention. Whop processes the data needed for your purchase, such as your name, email address and payment details, and gives you the files to download. The legal basis is the performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)). Whop sends us the details of your order, but never your full card details. More: whop.com/privacy.

5. Email

When you write to us, we use your message and email address only to reply (Article 6(1)(b) and (f)). We delete it once we no longer need it and no legal retention period applies.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct and delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. Just send us an email. You can also complain to a data protection authority, in the UK the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
